NEUTRALISE YOUR RACE DAY EMISSIONS THROUGH TARGETNEUTRAL
Visitors to
the Classic F3 race days are being encouraged to neutralise
the CO2 emissions caused by their driving through
targetneutral, a
non-profit
initiative
operated by BP and overseen by a panel of top
environmentalists chaired by
Jonathon Porritt, Founder
Director of Forum for the Future.
targetneutral’s simple online calculator, available at
the Targetneutral web site here,
enables drivers to work out how much CO2 their
driving produces each year. They can then sign up to the
scheme and contribute the exact amount needed to neutralise
their emissions. These funds are invested by targetneutral
into independent environmental projects designed to prevent
or remove the equivalent emissions.
The cost of
neutralising the emissions created by driving the average
car 10,000 miles in a
year
through
targetneutral
is around £20. |

Rallye Sport
invites HSCC members to a French regularity
event aimed at British owners of Vintage and Classic cars. Lasting 5 days
and 4 nights in the lovely Normandy region of France. The event finishes on
11th July at Le Mans in time for the start of the “Le Mans

They say Sport, gastronomy and conviviality
are the three words that best sum up the philosophy of “The
Normandy-Maine Classic Tour”. The itinerary takes you through the most
attractive parts of Normandy. The route has been selected to give the
navigators a chance to demonstrate their skills, while allowing the drivers
some fun on fabulous empty French roads.
A full road book of the route will be issued. Navigation will be by tulips
or map tracings, and all instructions will be in English. Competitors make
their own way to Dieppe ready for the start on Monday morning. Stay on at Le

Kevon Zwolinski
contacted the HSCC office with the following note he had
received from a fellow competitor, we thought it may be
useful information for some of you.
“My licence renewal
form came through a week or so ago, and for once I decided
to act early. I had a question that I needed to put to
the licence office, who were extremely helpful, and in
addition they pointed out that despite my age (let’s just
say “over 45” which needs the annual medical, or so I
thought) I did not need a medical this year because they
already have one on file dated March 2007. It appears
that despite the wording on the information that accompanies
the licence renewal form, the medical on record has to be
within 12 months of the date of application, not 6 months as
stated on the MSA document. The 6 months apparently
applies only to new applicants."
Kevin
says he
put this to the test
earlier and returned the form, and his licence has come
through no problem. This has saved the hassle, and the not
insignificant cost of a medical. |
