Historic F2 2010
The HSCC will continue to administer the Historic Formula 2 Championship in 2010. 2010 Regulations both technical and sporting are now available on this page together with Competitor Registration forms. All competitors are reminded that they must submit a copy of the front page of their FIA HTP when registering. Cars without the appropiate papers will be refused entry. To assist event organisers and commentators we have introduced a competitor information sheet to detail their personal history together with that of the car. If available we would like registered competitors to forward recent pictures of their cars on track too.
The 2010 Historic Formula 2 Championship has now reached mid point following Monza on 5th - 6th June. The Hockenheim and Spa rounds had been dominated by Matthew Watts (March 772) with opposition gathering from Peter Meyrick (March 782) and Philip Harper (Ralt RT1). At Spa Martin Stretton (March 742) showed the potential of his new car and a slipstreaming battle was promised for Monza. Problems in the Friday free qualifying sidelined Watts from the event, and it was to be the turn of Ralt Chassis to dominate the proceedings. Philip Harper and Hans Peter secured to the top two steps of the podium for both races in Italy, with Hans winning race 1 and Philip race 2, the perpetual bridesmaid finishing 3rd in both races was Peter Meyrick. Katsu Kubota (March 712) in Class A had a good weekend winning the class in Race 1 and finishing 3rd in Race 2. Diogo Ferrao continues to impress in the ex Martin Stretton March 712 finishing 2nd to Kubota in Race 1 and take the class win in Race 2. Daryl Taylor March 78B is another driver new to the Championship for 2010 who continues to impress claiming two class wins from the weekend. Historic F2 comes to the UK next for the Brands Super Prix in July. Could we see another new name on the top step of the podium on the GP circuit? Be there to witness the races for yourself.
