HSCC Members AGM 31st March 2010
The Historic Sports Car Club Ltd will be holding its AGM at Silverstone Innovation Centre at 3.00pm on Wednesday 31st March all paid up HSCC 2010 members are welcome to attend click here to download the AGM Notice.
 
Silverstone International Trophy Race Meeting 15th - 16th May 2010
Entry forms for our first two day meeting of the year have been despatched to all HSCC Race Memberships. We are very pleased to be hosting this event on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. A full programme of HSCC Race Championships, will be supplemented by a non - championship race for our Historic Formula 5000 and Formula 2 Competitors, a race for the Historic Formula Ford 2000 series, as well as the inaugral race in the Motor Racing Legends Sir Stirling Moss Trophy for pre '61 GT and Sports Racing Cars. It is hoped that Britain's greatest all round racer, and HSCC Patron in Chief Sir Stirling Moss will be contesting the race in his Italian OSCA sports car. There will also be a race for the Motor Racing Legends Pre - War Sportscars, and the very popular GT and Sports Car Cup series.

With many grids having a capacity to start 48 cars, spectators will have the constant spectacle of wheel to wheel racing throughout the day.  For competitors there will be testing available on the Grand Prix Circuit on Friday 14th May bookable from the circuit via our link on the calendar page of this website. For Spectators there is also a direct link on the calendar page to the circuit ticket office if you wish to take advantage of their advance ticket promotion of a weekend admission for only £15
 
Alan Putt 1936 - 2010 
It is our sad duty to report the loss of our Chief Registrar Alan Putt who died peacefully on Friday 12th February 2010 following a six month battle with cancer. Alan was a chartered engineer and in his lifelong career with British Telecomm was part of the team that created the Main Frame Computer. He held many positions within UK motorsport and was involved with drafting the Appendix K revisions for the FIA. In 1976 Alan established the Historic Formula Junior Championship, this fine legacy along with his collection of books which he has bequeathed as a research facility to the MSA at Colnbrook, will keep this wonderful man long in the memory of motorsport enthusiasts. A full obituary will be published in the March issue of the HSCC News.
We can confirm the advance details of Alan's funeral in March it will be held at Etham Crematorium on Friday 26th March at 11.30am. Refreshments will be available afterwards at the The Jolly Fenman, 60-68 Black Fen Road, Sidcup, DA15 8SW. Flowers and donations should be sent to:-Francis Chappell & Sons, 5 Thomas Street, Woolwich, London, SE18 6HL. Donations should made for Ellenor Lions Hospice, c/o Francis Chappell & Sons @ Woolwich.
 
Historic Formula 2 Season Opens at Hockenheim Historic in Memory of Jim Clark April 16 -18
Entry forms for the opening rounds of the Historic Formula 2 Championship at Hockenheim on 16 - 18 April 2010 are now available to download on the HF2 page of this website. Whilst commencing the contest to find the 2010 Champion at Hockenheim there will a get together on Saturday 17th April to celebrate the 2009 Championship and award the Champion his trophy. All six events of the HF2 Championship will be supporting the FIA Historic Formula One Championship. At Hockenheim there will also be rounds of the FIA Lurani Trophy, Orwell Supersports and the BOSS Single Seater Series. For full details of the event go to www.hockenheim-historic.de

Race Retro Stoneleigh 12th - 14th March 2010
The HSCC will be back on show at the Race Retro Exhibition, at Stoneleigh NAC, Warwickshire,
March 12th - 14th. The Race Retro Exhibition now in its sixth year, is the dedicated event for Historic Motorsport.
 
The HSCC will be bringing a showcase of cars representative of their Historic Race Championships,
including Formula Junior, Roadsports, Historic Formula Ford, Historic Touring cars and Guards Trophy.
 
Full details of the full HSCC race calendar will be on the stand, together with the opportunity to register for the HSCC over 2 Litre Saloon car race at the Silverstone Classic, and information of the new Jaguar E-Type series for 2011 will also be available on the stand.
 
Come along and meet the HSCC staff together with Championship representatives on stand D36 in Hall 2.

Silverstone Sunday 28th March 2010
Entry forms and the Provisional Timetable are now available to download for the HSCC Silverstone Season Opener on Sunday 28th March from the Calendar page of this website. There is a nine race programme which will be held on the Silverstone National Circuit. There are Championship races for 70s Roadsports, Classic Racing Cars, a double header for Classic Formula 3, Guards Trophy, Historic Formula Ford, Historic Formula Junior, Historic Roadsports and Historic Touring Cars.
Testing is available from Silverstone Circuit for Friday 26th March go to the Calendar Page on this website for a direct link and contact details.
 
Cadwell Park Sunday 11th April
Entry forms and the Provisional Timetable  are now available to download for the HSCC Cadwell Park Historic Race Meeting on Sunday 11th April from the Calendar Page of this website. There is to be a ten race programme held over the Full Cadwell Park circuit. There are Championship races for 70s Roadsports, a double header for Classic Racing Cars, Historic Formula Ford, Historic Formula Junior two races, one for front engine and one for rear engine cars both grids will be competing for their section of the Barry Westmoreland Memorial Trophy.Historic Roadsports, a double header for Historic Touring Cars and Formula Ford 2000. HSCC Marshal availability 2010
The Marshal availibility form for the 2010 is now available. All of you who have previously assisted us at Race Meetings and provided us with a name and address, have had forms posted to them on 29th January. If you do not receive a form, please let us know and we will send a form from the office. Alternatively a 2010 is also available to download by clicking here. Many thanks for your support in 2009 we hope you have a great season with us in 2010.
 
Want to be a Race Marshal?
Ever wanted to be that little bit closer to the racing, be part of a friendly enthusiastic team? Maybe you should consider being a Race Marshal. The British Motor Racing Marshals Club, has regions across the country and there is likely to be one based at  your favourite Motor Sport venue. Training sessions are already underway for novice and experienced Marshals to prepare themselves for the 2010. The Marshals club will be at Race Retro Stoneleigh March 12th - 14th. But for more information on how you can be involved go to www.marshals.co.uk. Remember we cannot go racing without the loyal support of these volunteers across the country.
 
 
 
 
HSCC Announce their 2 Races for the Silverstone Classic July 23rd - July 25th 2010
At the Autosport International Racing Car Show, the HSCC announced the two grids they will be providing for the Silverstone Classic. For 2010 there will be a non championship grid for HSCC Roadsports comprised of competitors contesting either the Historic or 70s Roadsports Championships. New for 2010 there will also be an over 2 Litre Historic Touring car grid. All cars are to be pre'66 and the regulations will be similiar to those from the successful HSCC British Grand Prix support race of 2008. This was for cars that conformed to either FIA Appendix K or Historic Racing Saloon Register regulations. Further details will be released shortly. 
As in previous years, the HSCC are the overall organisers for all on the day track activities. For full details of the on and off track programme visit www.silverstoneclassic.com
 
 
Go racing! 
If you want to join in the fun on the track,  you will need to be over 16 years of age, and hold a full driving licence. If under 17 you will need to contact the MSA for details of their academy scheme. You will also need to take an ARDS Test (Association of Racing Drivers Schools) to obtain a National B Race licence. For the full details of how to start racing go to the Website of the UK Motorsport Governing Body, (The MSA) www.msauk.uk.org and go to 'Getting Started' there you will find details of their Go Racing Pack. If you want to experience driving a race car on track before deciding, go to www.ards.co.ukfor the full list of Racing Schools Nationwide. There you will find a full range of choices from experience days to Full Race Courses to qualify for your National B Licence.
